Greece: January 3, 2014 at age 91. Maurice is predeceased by his wife, Teresa Wendell. He is survived by his son, Steven Wendell; daughter, Sandra (John) Sodeman; grandchildren, Randall (Samantha) Sodeman & Stephanie (Matthew) Sullivan; great-grandchildren, MaKayla, Megan, Jackson, & Jordan; several nieces and nephews; many friends. Maurice is a Veteran of the United States Army. In his spare time, he enjoyed his grandchildren, chalk drawing, cooking and the Yankees. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Maurice’s Memorial Service will be celebrated, Tuesday, January 7th, 11 A.M. in the Chapel of Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece Chapel. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Honor Flight Rochester (HonorFlightRochester, org) in his memory.     There are so many good memories of Scoop and our families over the years.He is again with my Dad and all the other ‘Grey Knights’.Thoughts and prayers are with you all…Jim O’Connor

    I traveled with Scoop when he was in the service department at Gleason and later worked with him when he was an engineer. I learned a lot from him about Gleason machines and life. He was a great man and will sorely be missed. Sorry for your loss.
