Condolences to the family of a wonderful woman who not only made music herself, but inspired and guided so many others to make music as well.

Danute was a remarkable woman who fought a courageous battle while remaining grounded and upbeat. I recall her singing with her group at a concert here in Rochester just a couple of years ago. She touched many people with her interest in music and shared it freely with young and old people alike. What a gift! May your memories of her smile, sparkling eyes and generous spirit comfort you.

To Rimas and all of Dana’s beloved nieces and great neices and nephews: I knew Dana well in elementary school and high school. We lost touch for many years and reconnected recently. Even though I knew this would be the eventual outcome of her battle, it is way too soon. I know she treasured each of you and the opportunities you afforded her to have close relationship (especially with her sister’s children). May her memory be a blessing to you always, Gini (Snyder) Shevrin

Our deepest condolences to Rimas, all the relatives and close friends of Danute. We will always remember her bright smile, and happy outlook on life. She did not let the illness destroy her love and zest for living. She was an inspiration to all who face difficulties and serious setbacks in life, not to give in easily to despair. May she rest in Peace.

Mielas Rimai: We have had the good fortune of always seeing Dana and you at times of joy and relaxation. Whether it was at a party, on the ski slopes, Christmas eve, arba Lietuvoj – Dana clearly enjoyed life and shared her joy with those around her. We did not see the hard times she (and you) had to endure, especially in the past several years. I hope that the memories of those difficult times will fade quickly for you. We regret that we could not be in Rochester to extend our condolences in person this weekend. Linkim tau daug linksmu prisiminu ir stiprybes per ateinancias dienas.

Thinking of you today, Rimas, as you say goodbye to Danute. She was a lovely friend and musical colleague, and I think of her often. Thank you for letting Don and I know that she had gone, and may you remember all the good times as you grieve. I’m glad we had a bit more time with her than that disease usually allows. She will be missed.
