Fr. John R. Burke

Rochester: February 4, 2013 at age 85. John is predeceased by his parents, Paul & Mary Burke; sister, Paula B. Reynolds & brother, Peter G. Burke. He is survived by his brother, Michael (Judie) Burke; sisters, Mary Jean Rowan & Sharon (Paul) Miller; sister-in-law, Joyce Burke; several caring nieces and nephews and their families. John is a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was ordained priest on May 27, 1954 and retired in 2008 from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie. John’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of The Highlands at Brighton for taking such good care of Fr. Bob. John’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 9th, 10 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 2400 West Ridge Road. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Four Walls Project c/o Journeys of Solutions, PO Box 28, Webster, NY 14580, in his memory.
