Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
Greece: June 30, 2011 at age 76 after a long battle with lung and heart problems you still lived the life you wanted and passed away with dignity. Thomas is predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Sylvia Gavin; sisters, Shirley Walsh & Joan Janus; son-in-law, Ralph E. Guy. He is survived by his wife, Kay Jinks-Gavin; adoring children, Tom (Peggy) Gavin, Robin Guy & Cindy (Mark) Leibenguth; grandchildren he was proud of, Tara (Kevin) Allison, Jennifer (Justin) Wiesner, Gavin Guy, Aaron Guy, Colin Guy, Matt Leibenguth & Marcus Leibenguth; beautiful great-grandchildren he took absolute joy in, Ethan, Madelyn & Audrey; several nieces, nephews and cousins; many dear friends. Dad, it’s hard to believe you are not here with us anymore; you have always been there for us. You taught us that family comes first, hard work pays the bills and respect for others wins over lots of friends. If everyone could have had the two parents we had growing up the world would be a better place. He taught us all of us what it means to be a great, caring and supportive loving parent. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren so much and also spending time with his family every week at Sunday dinner. We love you and miss you so much. Always loved and never forgotten’¦..your family. Friends may call Tuesday, July 5th, 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, Greece Chapel, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Prayer Service will be held during visitation at 7 P.M. Interment will be held privately.

To Kay & the Gavin Family: Please accept our sincere condolences on Tom’s passing. We have known Tom for about 25 years, and we had a lot of laughs together. We were happy to have had dinner with you and Tom, at Val & Wendells house, just a few short weeks ago. Tom will be missed by many. We will keep in touch. Ray & Shirley Marti
Tom was a great guy and will be greatly missed by all of us who enjoyed working with him in Roll Coating.
Tom I am so very sorry about your loss. I know how special your Dad was to you and your family. Although he may no longer be with you, you will always have wonderful memories of your Dad & your Mom.
Tom, due to scheduling events I will not be able to make it to your fathers funeral. I just found out today, Tuesday. I know how close you were, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Tom, I remember the first time I met both of your parents 30+ years ago. They were both great and I loved your father’s sense of humor. Even though I had not seen him much lately, I enjoyed listening to you tell me about what he had been up to. I will always remember the last motorcycle ride we went on together when he bought his last motorcycle. I am sure you know how fortunate you were to have such a caring father that enjoyed the same interests as you. Sue and I will miss him dearly. Our thoughts are with you and your family, Butch & Sue Shubert
Tom, Robin, Cindy and Families, We are sorry to hear the news of your father’s passing. We will always remember the good times we had as neighbors and friends on the lake. Will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this time of sorrow.
Tom, Sorry we couldn’t be there for you at this time. We are so glad we were able to see you in Florida this past winter. May you rest in peace. John and Eileen Cain (Gulf Air RV Resort)
