Gates: Saturday, December 20, 2008 at age 89. Predeceased by his wifes, Helen Rendsland & Lera Rendsland. He is survived by his brother, Norman (Marilyn) Rendsland; sister, Edith Murray; several nieces and nephews; step-daughter, Karen Gates; many dear friends. Joseph is retired from Gleason Works, is a Veteran of World War II and served in the United States Army. He served in the 121st Calvary and the 209th Coast Auxiliary. Joseph is also a long-time member of the American Legion Posts in Greece and Gates, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Friends may call Tuesday, December 23rd, 9 A.M. to 12 NOON at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Service will follow visitation in the Funeral Home Chapel at 12 NOON. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 in his memory.
Although we havent seen each other in years you and Aunt Helen have always been in my prayers.I will always remember how as my godparents you made sure I kept up my catholic religion after my mother(Lorraine)passed in 1973.I will continue to maintain the cemetary plot for you and Aunt Helen as I can.Thank you for all the memories. Uncle joe was relate by anunt helen ( harold schmuck was her brother) he was a great person to know , he always had a kind word and a smile that lite a room up . I remember going over to his house when I was LIttle with my grangparents (schmuck) and they would play cards for hours . He will always be remembered with love chris mayer
