Rochester: Sunday, September 28, 2008 at age 55. Survived by his son, Anthony (Shyla) Streb; daughter, Kelly Streb; children’s mother, Karen Streb; grandson, Cooper Streb; parents, George (Rosemarie) Streb; brothers, David (Patti) Streb & Richard (Tim White) Streb; sisters, Kathryn Streb & Ann (Jack) Sylvia; nieces and nephews, Michael (Nicole) Streb, Andrew (Heather) Streb, Katie Streb, Jason Streb, Rachel Sylvia & R.J. Sylvia; special friend Xing Mei Guo; many other loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins,, great nieces, great nephews & many dear friends. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Leschinski, Dr. Woodlack and the staff of TCU 2nd Floor @ Unity Hospital for their outstanding care of George. Friends may call Tuesday 1-4 & 7-9 P.M. at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Wednesday, 10:00 A.M. at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N. Greece Road. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to honor George’s grandson’s education, Cooper Streb c/o Anthony Streb, 1075 Long Pond Road, Rochester NY 14626 or to the School of the Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Parkway, Rochester NY 14623 in his memory
Although I didn’t work with George directly, he always showed interest, always had time for a chat, a laugh, a joke. The bursts of laughter were most of the time from his office. I remember him as a warmhearted person, sad that he passed away too young. I want to express condolences to the Streb family and others that were close to him. Willem
Dad, I want to thank you for all that you have taught me over the years. You are the best father, coach and Grandpa that anyone could ever have. You will always be with me and Shy and Cooper. You will be talked about everyday to Coop so he knows what a wonderful father you are. We are so blessed that you had the chance to spend time with us and be there when Cooper was born. You will be with us everyday and forever. We love you
Dad, You were my best friend, I can’t even describe how grateful I am to have had a father like you, we we’re 2 peas in a pod, You will live through me for the rest of my life and you will be with me in my heart every minute of every day. I will make sure that your stories are told and that laughs follow forever, and that anyone who didn’t know you will feel like they did. Dear Streb family, I was very sad and sorry to hear of George’s passing, though it has been many years since I had seen George, I have many very happy and fond memories from our school days in grade school thru high school. George was a great friend and loved to laugh and have a great time. Though I could not be with you at this time because of the miles that separate us, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Geoge was a rare individual who lived life to the fullest. He was always able to bring a smile to your face even on the roughest of days and for that he will always be missed. Our condolences to the Streb family during this difficult time John & Teri
George had a way of throwing his head back when he laughed in a way only he could laugh. (we called it flip-top laugh)and smiling in the morning while making us 3 or 4 different kinds of sausage we would make jokes about if that was enough kinds,to which he would crack up, complete with his own flip top laugh that would make us laugh even more.Im going to miss him,we’re going to miss him,and his laugh.I send my thanks and my love to his family.

I was sorry to read of George’s passing.My sympathy to Streb family including Karen who I had known as George’s wife.I had the pleasure to meet Geoge when he started to work for Dalsa. Tony & Kelly: I used to work with your Dad and the one thing I remember most is that he could make me laugh. He had a self-deprecating sense of humor. He was completely unpretentious and humble. He’d be the first to admit that he wasn’t perfect. He was totally lovable. He sure loved you guys and was proud of his kids. My sincere condolences to you and your family – I’ll be praying for you all. I’ll always remember George when I go to 7:45 AM mass at St. Lawrence (that was his favorite mass). You could tell that George was in the room before you saw him. His warm presence was felt by everyone. He was truly a kind hearted man and the world has been darkened by his passing. He will be greatly missed.
