Rochester: Thursday, February 14, 2008 at age 79. Predeceased by her husband, John Pierce; brother, Frank Quinlan; sister, Eleanor Haley. She is survived by her children, William Pierce, Mary (Joseph) Spakowski & Carolyn (James) Piampiano; brother, Thomas (Helen) Quinlan; sister, Marie (Richard) Bateman; grandchildren, James, John, Kathleen, Molly, Marie, Claire, Grace & Patrick; several nieces, nephews and cousins; many friends. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. No prior calling. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Wednesday 9:30 A.M. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3003 Dewey Avenue. Interment held at the convenience of family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charlotte ‘€œ Genesee Lighthouse, 70 Lighthouse Street, Rochester NY 14612 in her memory
Carolyn(&family) – Your mom was wonderful – I remember when she made the tuna sandwichs becuase it was Lent for dinner before my surprise birthday. I lost my Mom in August 2006 and I know your mom was was so much like mine – great friend & mom and extra special grandma! – You will see her in your childen’s eyes at I do Luke’s – God bless!
I worked with Kathleen at St. Charles for many years. We had so much fun and I will never forget those wonderful times. Was sorry to hear she had passed away. I will never forget her and the ‘good old days at St. Charles’.
Marie and Tom, I am saddened to hear of Kathleen’s death. I had totally lost contact with all the Quinlan’s following Frank’s death. I thought that Kathleen and JT had moved to Texas. Kathleen and Eleanor taught me religion and how to blow smoke rings while I ‘helped’ them with their housework. My wife Trish and I still live next door to your old cottage on Conesus Lake. We tore down the three little cottages and built a new year round home. We moved the little green house on the shore where Dick used to sleep to our property long ago. Now Carolyn Pratt sleeps there occasionally. I retired from Rochester Gas and Electric after almost 40 years and now consult from home. I must be out of town on Wednesday but will be thinking of you. Please call or stop to visit.

We are here today because we loved my mom and I just want to share some things my mom loved’¦. - Her husband, and my dad J.T. - Being married ————————————- —————————- ————– - A Prime Rib dinner at the Conesus Inn AND - A Manhattan on the rocks to start things off —————————————————— —————————– - Going down to Charlotte pier and watching the boats on the river - Sitting in the sun on the beach at Ontario State Park - Taking a boat ride. . . anywhere. . . anytime - A white hot dog blackened over charcoal - Vacations on Conesus Lake ———————————————————————————– - The color blue - Going out for breakfast - Salted cashews - Mexican sundaes ———————————————————————————- - Her 2 girlfriends she’s had since first grade, Eileen and Pat - Clip on earrings - Her pearl choker - Red corduroy jackets and red sweaters - Having her back scratched ———————————————————————————– - Her sister Eleanor and her brother Frank, whom she loved and lost too early - Her sister Marie and Dick and her brother, Tom and Helen and all the leg of lamb dinners they shared at each other’s houses ————————————————————————————————– - Watching football on Sunday afternoon.. Monday night.. Thursday night and Saturdays, anytime a game was playing. - The taste of her own cooking - Watching the Olympics - The dinners my brother Bill would buy, bring over, cook on the grill, and clean up after (She just loved those!). ————————————————————————————————– - Cooking breakfast at Hamlin Beach State Park - Chasing fire trucks - Having my sister Mary live so close by (She really loved that!) - Her nieces and nephew who each showed her in there very own way how much they thought of her and she knew it ————————————————————————————————– – Her Aunt Marg - A Schaller’s hamburger and chocolate milk shake - Her Dad Frank Quinlan and her mom Marie (whom she very much missed) - Her family’s cottage on Conesus Lake - A campfire - Watching Bishop Sheen on Sunday nights —————————————————————————————————– – My Uncle Steve’s sense of humor - Shrimp cocktail and fried scallops - Babies - Car Racing - Making cut out cookies ‘ Mickey Mouse heads were her favorite —————————————————————————————————— - Her 2 son-in-laws, Joe and Jim - Her 8 grandchildren, Jimmy, John, Katie, Molly, Marie, Claire, Grace and Patrick - Tulips - Black bobby pins - Josh Groban —————————————————————————————————— - Watching her soap operas everyday - Dogs - Listening to WHAM radio - Rolls and cupcake lunches from Jackson’s Bakery - Glen Campbell’s version of ‘I Did it My Way ——————————————————————————————————– - My Mom really loved her kids’¦we knew it everyday’¦ in every conversation’¦ in any thing she ever did’¦ ——————————————————————————————————- My Mom loved ‘¦ just being a mom’¦ and she was great at it!!!!
