Greece: Suddenly on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the age of 53. He is predeceased by his father, Robert Vincent Qualey. Survived by his son, Kyle Stanton; mother, Anne(Al)Cossey; sister, Linda(Oleh)Salamanca, Roberta(Steven)Wieczorek and Sharon Qualey; nieces and nephews, Mark and Mike Salamanca and Kayla & Kasey Fanton. Friends are invited to call Sunday, 3-7PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Rd. Services and interment are private.
Although my heart is breaking for the loss of Steve, I have so many wonderful and crazy memories ( lots of these!) stored away of all the times we spent together. He had the most wonderful sense of humor and could keep anyone laughing until their sides hurt. He was quick witted and generous with everyone he knew. I will miss our visits, but will continue to remember all that he brought to my life and the lives of many others and he will always live on in my heart.
I grew up with Steve and you always knew when he was around by the laughs. He had the best sense of humor and was always bustin balls! I always knew I could stop in for a beer and alot of laughs. This is going to be a big loss for all of us. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kyle and his family.
I knew Steve when we were kids. Unfortunately, I lost contact with him over the years, until just recently and I’m saddened by his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Tim and Lori English
I met Steve more than 20 years ago and have always had great memories of him. I recall him as a warm-hearted person with a great wit. I know that I am not alone in wishing that I had seen him more often over the years. Tim Lum
I saw Steves name in the paper and was shocked to see that it was the same steve I went to HS with . I remember him as a warmhearted funny guy who was very friendly. I also remember he bought Helen Careys house and that I would see him sometimes when he was on his boat that was many yrs. ago when my brother Dan and him would crack me up they were both funny Take care I know how hard it is too miss a brother Kathy
Kyle and family, I’m very sorry to hear about Steve. I’ve known him for 20+ years and considered him a good friend even though we didn’t spend a lot of time together. He was always upbeat and fun to be around. I always tried to see him when we came home from the Carolina’s. He was one of very few people that I made a point of seeing on these visits. I’ll always be gratefull for the way he looked in on my parents, especially after I moved away. He was a great friend to my whole family. All I can envision now is Steve and my Dad sitting around having a couple of beers while they look over us from heaven. I’m truly sorry for your loss and wish I could be there to support you. Kyle,we are so sorry for your loss. Steve was at our house just a few weeks ago. He was very proud of you and he was glad you were with him. He will always be in our family’s thoughts and prayers. Jeff & Sheila Jones & family

Steve & I were part of the gang as kids! We were all inseperable & did everything together. All my childhood memories involve Steve & his antics!!!! I was fortunate to have Steve in my life & I will miss him dearly.
Steve was a great neighbor and friend, always willing to help and always made us laugh. We lived across the street, and there was rarely a day we did not see him (and his Budwiser…) He helped out my parents more times than I can count. When I think of my parents house, I can’t help but think of Steve too, he was always there! Everyday in the summer he would come over, sit on the front step, talk to the plastic deer and pretend to share his beer. I have many happy memories of Steve. Kyle, Hockey, friends and having fun were what made him happy. He was so proud to have you as his son Kyle. It is a shock that I can’t stop by the neighborhood and see him, I thought he would always be there.
Steve was a kind and generous man with a tremendous sense of humor. I’m proud that he was my friend for many years.
STEVE WAS MY BROTHER–THE KINDEST, MOST CARING AND LOVING BROTHER–I’M SO BLESSED TO HAVE HAD HIM IN MY LIFE. IM SO HEARTENED KNOWING HOW SPECIAL HE WAS TO SO MANY PEOPLE, AND I LOOK FORWARD TO RETURNING HERE TO SHARE WHATEVER IS ON YOUR HEART. DONT HOLD BACK, I KNOW THERE ARE LOTS OF LAUGHS TO SHARE TOO!!! WE WILL MISS HIM TO THE END OF TIME—WE LOVED HIM WELL!!!
We only knew Steve for a short time but we will miss him. It was always a good time when he was around,like when we fixed the closet doors or painted the apartment,or just standing around drinking a bud. we will all miss you steve. steve was a great guy to know he always made you laugh.
We were so sorry to hear about Steven. I can’t imagine what a heartache it must be to lose a brother. I haven’t seen Steven in a very long time, but as I read over what others have written, I can see that he had family and friends who cared for him very much. It’s 2018. I just found out dear Steve lost his life in a fire and I’m broken hearted. We worked together, and I lost touch with him. This must have happened shortly after the last time I saw him or talked to him. I am grieved deeply as he was a wonderful man. Witty, sweet, kind and handsome with that jet black hair and twinkle in his eyes. So sad
