Pearl M. Thomas

Rochester: Friday, November 9, 2007 after an extended illness. Born in Ontario, Orange County, CA, lived in Rochester from age 3. Predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Edward G. Pearl and Eddie met while both were working at Hickcock Mfg. Co. Pearl went on to manage the Parking Authority at Strong Memorial Hospital, where she designed the permit system used by both Strong Memorial and the U of R until after her retirement. An avid birder, Pearl also loved iris, lilacs, music, good restaurants, and Godiva chocolates. Survived by four daughters, three grandchildren, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law and their children and grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday, 2-4PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Rd. Her Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Audubon Society.
