Geneseo: June 28, 2007. Survived by his wife, Anne M.(Guider)Kirchgessner and Michael Romig; his daughters, Randi (Mike) Palumbo and Sherri Romig; his brother, Frank(Melanie)Kirchgessner; his granddaughter, Arlene Palumbo; 2 nephews, Mark and George Kirchgessner; his niece Debbie Clark; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; his business partner, Marge Wyant; many dear friends at the Monroe County Airport Fire Dept. where he worked for more than 30 years. Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Saturday at 9:00a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave.(no prior calling hours). Interment at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers friends wishing may make contributions to Another Chance Ranch(Animal Rescue) 5698 South Livonia Road, Conesus, NY 14435 in his memory.

Anne, I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your husband. It may not seem like it now, but better days are ahead, and the degree of pain will ease. You have so many people that care about you, and will help you through this really difficult time.
Anne, My heart aches for you! I wish you didn’t have to go through this. You are so young to have to deal with this and it doesn’t seem fair. I wish there was something I could do to ease your pain. Always remeber the good times you and George shared. I am grateful he brought so much happiness to you. He will not be forgotten. Know your family loves you and we will always be here for you!!! anne, as you know i am very sorry for your loss. keep remembering the great times you spent with george and hopefully this will help you get thru some of the hard times. if you need anything you can always count on irene and myself.

George,Just to let you know,You had a wonderful sendoff today.All of your loved ones,Friends&family Were here for you.I never realized you touched so many peopleshearts,although I have known you since I was 17 years old which is about 37 years I truly wish we had gotten to know each other better.You will be in my heart as well as many others forever.We will all miss you very deeply. Mark I am sorry te hear about your uncle. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Having the pleasure to meet your uncle at the Airport when we would go out there to visit or train was an honor. He will be missed by all that he touched in life.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family for he has left us much too soon. I had the honor and pleasure of working with George at the Rochester Airport Fire Dept. Every year I would come back to visit friends and relatives in Rochester, NY and ALWAYs made time to visit with him at his store in Spencerport, NY. I will miss you dearly my friend, as my heart is heavy for I will never be able to enjoy your company, are converstaions and laughs again. You will be missed but you will remian in my memory. God Bless my friend.

You don’t think of someone for years and then, there is the name, in the obituaries. a sign we’re growing older. I was privileged to work with George at the CFR from 1971 through 1975. A great co-worker, a better friend, always the one to have your back or bust your chops. I’m saddened at his passing but grateful that I knew him. God Bless you George. Steve
