Cosmo Bianchi

Cosmo Bianchi, 93, passed away on January 14, 2007, of natural causes. Born on January 29, 1913, Cosmo was part of the ‘Greatest Generation.’ He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression and in the US Army Air Force in England during WWII. A member of the 1948 championship horseshoe pitching team, he retired from Eastman Kodak after 35 years as a carpenter. His carpentry skills in later years produced wood artistry, from toys for grandchildren to inventive wood turnings and even cedar strip canoes. The most important part of Cosmo’s life was being a supportive and loving husband and father. He married the love of his life, Josephiine Bianchi, in 1942. He was a Rochester native and attended Madison High School. Cosmo is survived by his wife of 65 years, Josephine; their 3 children; Carl Bianchi and wife Gloria, of Boise, Idaho, John Bianchi and wife Margaret of Tucson, Arizona, Gina Mulvihill and husband Jamie of St. Augustine, Florida; and seven grandchildren; Jessica, Liana, Sascha, Sarah, Alexander, Christiana and Sophia. A Memorial Service was held at the convenience of the family.
