John I. McDermott

Rochester: Monday, October 12, 2026 at age 98.  Predeceased by his loving wife, Lois (in 2019 after 67 years of marriage) parents, Joesph Harold and Loretta Mae (Roach) McDermott, and his daughter, Patty McDermott.

Survived by his son, Michael (Barbara) McDermott; grandson, Scott McDermott; granddaughter, Michelle (Brian) Rudney; twin great grandchildren, Blake and Bryce Rudney; beloved neighbors, Kristian Reninger and Gwendolyn Snyder, and friends.

John was a WW2 veteran, graduate of Clarkson college, and a CPA.  He retired from Xerox and enjoyed his 37-year retirement.  He loved playing golf, first as a member of Craig Hill and later Brook-Lea.  He loved his visits with his grandchildren and great grandsons, and was also a longtime fan of the Buffalo Bills.

Gravesite Prayer Service will be private at Webster Rural Cemetery.   Any contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
