Beverly Swisher

Beverly M Swisher of Spencerport, NY, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday August 27, 2026. Born on January 25, 1938, she lived a life completely dedicated to the people she loved.

Bev spent a majority of her life in Spencerport, where she built a beautiful life, a home, and a legacy of love. Family always came first for Bev; she consistently put herself second to ensure her loved ones were happy and cared for. She successfully raised her two boys, Gary and Jim, teaching them the values of kindness and dedication.

After nearly two decades of courtship Bev married, Lloyd K Swisher. Lloyd had already become a devoted father figure and grandfather to the entire family—Bev and Lloyd set the standard for what a marriage and life should look like. Together, they were the ultimate role models. The traditions Bev and Lloyd created will be remembered forever. To this day, many of her grandchildren share the exact same fond memory of gathering at the breakfast table for giant morning pancakes topped with real Vermont maple syrup, and Holiday meals with all the trimmings and of course her delicious apple and pumpkin pies. Though the Swisher family is unique and spread out all over the country and abroad, Bev and Lloyd kept everyone connected; seeing family after months apart felt as seamless as if they had just seen each other last week.

Bev and Lloyd shared a deep love for travel and adventure, exploring the world together from the magic of Disney and the mountains of Vermont to the vast landscapes of Alaska and Germany. Following Lloyd’s passing, Bev bravely continued her adventures. She stayed active and vibrant by embarking on bus trips with close friends and cheering on her favorite team at Yankees baseball games.

Beverly was predeceased in death by her husband, Lloyd K. Swisher, parents, Lester & Marie Whitaker, daughter-in-law Mamie Hoag and son-in-law Aiman Nakhal. Survived by 4 children, Gary (Patty) Hoag, James Hoag, Hartmut (Lisa) Swisher and Kirsten Nakhal; 13 grandchildren, Kyle (Brooke) Hoag, Kristin (Scott) Newman, James (Kristi) Hoag, Emily (Peter) Forella, Jennifer Hoag, Ryan (Stephanie) Swisher, Jordan (Rebecca) Swisher and Benjamin Swisher (Katie Burns), Junaya (Rami) Dibbas, Iman Nakhal, Ibrahim (Raghad) Nakhal, Ahmed Nakhal and Sarah Nakhal; 14 great grandchildren, Reagan and Sean Hoag, Braelynn and Landon Newman, Lukas and Levi Hoag, Madelyn and Johnathan Forella, Sarah and Anna Swisher, Nora Beverly Swisher, Idrees and Elias Dibbas and Nejma Nakhal

Beverly’s life story will be shared during visitation Friday (September 4^th) 4 – 7 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Celebration of Life will be held Saturday (September 5^th) at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Internment Lakeside Cemetery, Moscow Road, Hamlin NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Spencerport, 65 Church St, Spencerport, NY 14559 in her memory.
