Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Van, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, and adored grandmother and great-grandmother. She departed this world on July 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Van was born on May 1, 1944, in Laos, a place she fondly recalled throughout her life.

Van was a beacon of kindness and generosity, traits that defined her existence and left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit.

For fifty beautiful years, Van shared her life with her beloved husband, Seela. Their marriage was a source of inspiration, rooted in love, respect, and shared dreams. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and warmth, creating a haven for their family.

Van was a proud and loving mother to her daughter, Lai, and a caring sister to Vanh. Her family was her pride and joy, and she reveled in their successes and comforted them in their trials. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Casey Sukhavong (Doralie Sukhavong) and Ashley Sukhavong (Michael Wilson), as well as her great-grandchildren, Jude, Chloe, Alexander, Michaela, and Savannah, who will carry forward her values of kindness and compassion.

A deeply spiritual person, Van was an active member of the Wat Pa Lao Buddhadham temple in Henrietta, NY. Her faith was a guiding light, providing her with strength and serenity throughout her life. The temple community will miss her presence, her generous spirit, and her willingness to lend a helping hand.

Her hospitality was legendary, with friends and family often gathering at her home to enjoy her warm welcome and delicious meals. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and valued.

Van leaves behind a world that is richer for her presence and a family that will honor her memory by living out the lessons of love, generosity, and kindness she imparted. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her.

May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts.

Friends may call Thursday (July 23rd) 5-8 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. Private Interment.
