Kevin John “Butch” McCarthy

Kevin John “Butch” McCarthy of Hilton, New York, passed away on February 21st, 2026, at the age of 60.
He is predeceased by his parents, John R. and Helen L. (Herring) McCarthy, as well as his siblings Lorie Gardner, Michael McCarthy, and Bridget Corder.

Butch is survived by his two sons, Andrew Mack (Gisella Correa) and Joseph Sands, both of whom he was deeply proud of. He is also survived by his sisters, Molly McCarthy (Tina Paternostro) and Katy Kowalczyk (Gary), along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and so many friends.

Butch had a lifelong love of the outdoors and treasured every moment spent with his sons and his dog, Callie. He especially enjoyed taking them camping, kayaking, and fishing—creating memories filled with adventure, laughter, and love. He was also a devoted fan of Notre Dame Fighting Irish football and the Buffalo Bills, a passion he shared with our mother, “Momma Mac,” to whom he taught so much about the sport.

Butch’s visitation will be held Saturday, March 28th 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral and Cremation Chapels, 1075 Long Pond Road where his Prayer Service will be held at 3:00 PM following visitation.
