Diana Lyn Amering, affectionately known as “Di,” age 74, of Greece, NY, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025. Diana was born on June 18, 1951, in Rochester, New York, and was a lifelong resident of Greece, New York. She was predeceased by her parents, Shirley and Robert DeBerger, and son-in-law, Michael Ballou. 

Diana is survived by her children,  Caroline Ballou and Jason Amering; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Daniel Ballou; her brothers Eugune and Daniel DeBerger, her sister Robin (Robert Bockus); her nephews Mark and Matthew DeBerger and Brian (Margaret) Bockus, her niece Jennifer (Devin) Dawkins), special friend Joanne Chapman, cousins, and dear friends.

Diana retired from a 25-year retail career at JCPenney’s at Greece Ridge Center. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a lifelong New York Mets fan. She was in several bowling leagues, loved to play Candy Crush and Yahtzee, dining out with her family, and music concerts, particularly Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel. Diana also enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving dinner for her family as well. She will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, bravery, work ethic, and her ability to learn new things.

Friends and family may call Wednesday (January 7th) 5:00-7:00 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626. Her Funeral Service will be held immediately after calling hours at 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home.

The family extends its heartfelt thanks for the kind and gentle care that Diana received from the staff on the fifth floor of Rochester Regional Health MICU Unit and the Palliative Care team.
