Nemecio “Mencho” Magdaleno Quiñones passed away peacefully at the age of 97.
Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and later residing in the barrio of Casablanca, Luquillo Puerto Rico, he lived a long and meaningful life rooted in family, tradition, and hard work.
He was the son of Francisca Quiñones and Daniel Magdaleno, and sibling to Juancho, Inés, Genera, Casito, Monin, Carmín, and Angel.
Mencho was a devoted father to his bonus son, Jose Luis “Luisito” Rivera and his daughters Ana “Anita” Mercado, and Nora “Norita” Magdaleno.
He was first married to Genoveva Torres Maldonado (mother of his children) and later to Arcadia Robles Robles, surviving spouse.
A proud business owner and Foreman (Capataz)in Puerto Rico, Mencho was known for his strong work ethic, his music, and his love of gathering family.
He enjoyed playing guitar, singing traditional aguinaldos, dominoes, and telling stories that brought everyone together.
Mencho leaves behind a beautiful legacy of 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, each carrying forward his spirit, warmth, and love.
He will be remembered for his humor, his strong-willed character and the joy he brought to every family gathering.
Friends may call Monday (Nov 17th) 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road, where his Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 NOON. Interment, Riverside Cemetery.
