It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Kenneth Dewey.
Paul entered the U.S. Navy and served his country aboard the destroyer, USS Sampson. He was trained as an Enlisted Warfare Specialist and served a tour in Asia. He was the ship’s physical fitness trainer, through which his love of fitness inspired many.
After being honorably discharged, Paul and his wife Deanna opened Dew It Fitness, a strength and conditioning gym, where their yellow lab Jack provided puppy kisses to all who entered. Members often said that Paul changed their lives, not only through improving their health and fitness, but by fostering a community of support and acceptance. His enthusiastic energy and contagious determination created a bonded fitness family of everlasting friendships.
Paul will always be remembered as leading with his heart, and traveling through life with courage and determination. His genuine nature, infectious humor, and unwavering loyalty impacted the lives of many.
Paul is predeceased by his loving Nana, Bonnie Dewey, with whom he shared a very special bond, and his Grandfather Kenneth W. Ophardt, also a Veteran.
Paul is survived by his wife Deanna and their beloved and spoiled dog Jack. He is survived by his mother, Laura; father, Maurice; stepmother Cindy; brother, Tom; sister-in-law, Kayla; best friends, Jesse and Frankie; and countless friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his entire Fitness Family.
Services to be held privately by immediate family.
