Rochester:  Sunday, June 29, 2025 at age 81.  Predeceased by his parents, Leo and Katherine Trau; sister, Mary Lou Trau.  Survived by his beloved domestic partner of 25 years, Debra Meath Dwyer; his son, Mark (Melissa) Trau; daughter, Karin (Steve) Ward; son, Stephen (Tara) Dwyer; grandchildren, Mathew Trau (Kristyn Sengillo), Jamie Trau (Brandon Young), Sydney (Colin) Whiting, Lyndsay Brown (Raffaele Saieva), Audrey Brown; great-grandson, Blake Trau; many loving family and friends.  David retired at rank of Detective Supervisor for the Town of Greece Police Department after 20 years, 1965-1985.  He was a Volunteer Captain for Greece Ridge Fire Department, member of Greece Police Gold Badge Club, member of ARPALER, Association of Rochester Police and Area Law Enforcement Retirees.  He enjoyed horse racing, car racing, fishing and boating. 

Friends may call Tuesday (July 8th) 4-7 PM ay Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road.  His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday (July 9th) 10 :00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, Greece.  His Graveside Prayers will be held Wednesday (July 9th) 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp in his memory.  For more information, or to sign his online guestbook, please visit Meesonfamily.com

    Anna and I are very sad to hear about my good friend Dave passing away this past Sunday. We were good friends for 40 years and engaged regularly to solve community and world event problems.

    I will miss him dearly, may David’s memory be eternal.
