Rose Campoli (Cometa)

Rochester- Rose passed away peacefully on February 20, 2023, at age 95.  Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Jennie Cometa; husband, Leboro (Lee) Campoli in 1967; brother and sister-in-law, Angelo (Theresa) Cometa and numerous members of the Campoli family.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas (Gail) Cometa; sisters-in-law, Lilia DiMasa, Madeline Campoli and Debbie Campoli; nieces, Lisa (John) Boucher of Scottsdale, AZ., Lauren Mazzara (Tim Warth), Lynn Cometa; nephew, Tom (Kate) Cometa of Oakland, CA.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, many loving friends in the Park Crescent community and the Rodriguez family.

Rose was born and raised in Rochester and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1946.  After high school she worked as a cosmetologist for many years.  Following Lee’s passing, she began working at Hickey Freeman and retired in 1990 to care for our mother.

She was a strong, independent woman.  While she was a private person she was also caring, friendly and outgoing and she never forgot your name after meeting you once.

The family would like to thank the Legacy at Park Crescent for providing a great “home” for Rose for fifteen years and Hildebrandt Hospice for their loving care for Rose in her final hours.

At Rose’s request there will be no calling hours.  Inurnment private.

  5. I met Rose at Hickey Freeman when I was fresh out of college. She was a sweet lady and we worked in the same office for a time. After I left work to raise my family, I kept in touch with Rose and enjoyed many visits with her. We even took a drive one fall to visit our former boss, Norm Wilcox, and his wife Annette in Naples, NY and we had lunch together. I will always remember Rose’s gentleness and kindness to me.
