Survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Al Gilbert; daughter, Sandy (Mark) Bohner; grandchildren, Jessica, Alfred (Lindsay), Mark Jr., Michael, Robby; brother, Donald Gantt; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Joyce was born in Pelion, South Carolina and met Al in Washington, D.C. while working for Kodak.
Friends may call Thursday, Feb. 2nd 6-8 PM, Friday, Feb. 3rd 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece Chapel. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 4th 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment, Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 3500 Winton Place #4 Rochester, NY 14623 or Lollipop Farm, 99 Victor Road Fairport, NY 14450 in her memory. Although I only had the pleasure of meeting Joyce on a few occasions, the stories that Jessica has shared about her have also left a lasting impression on me.
This southern belle was a true firecracker! She reminds me so much of my own grandmother, who was also a southern belle.
I know she is dearly loved and my thoughts are with her family. There are many great memories to cherish forever.

Much sympathy to a family we have known for a long time.
My thoughts are with the whole family during this sad time. I’ll miss Joyce’s sweet laugh and sunny smile. I have so many nice memories when I think of Joyce. She will never be forgotten- Joyce will be missed.
The Casler family (Bruce, Patty and the rest of the crew of Annie) wish to express our condolences at the passing of Joyce.
I can only image as she passed over that she was awoken on the other side by the light kisses delivered by her furry friends she loved so much as they guided her home.
