  2. I always admired how Joe played his music from the Heart. I consider myself very fortunate that I had the privilege of playing with Joe back in the 60s and 70s whenever he was in town.

  3. I met Joe Romano in Rochester 30 years ago and then again in L.A. He was an amazing musician and a very funny guy. Thru the years I think of him everytime I hear the song ‘jazzman’- by Carly Simon! Play with the angels Joe! Rest in Peace.

  4. I WAS A LONG TIME FRIEND OF JOES AND I LOVED HIM..WE ALWAYS LAUGHED AND WE SHARED A DEEP LOVE FOR MUSIC..I WILL REMEMBER HIM AND HONOR HIS MEMORY FOR YEARS TO COME..

  5. Joe was an extremely clever man with a quick mind on and off the bandstand. He would have me laughing so hard at times I would be crying. He will be greatly missed!

  6. Judy,

Anita and I both enjoyed ourselves at Joe’s recent tribute. As you know, I was deeply touched by Joe Romano. His signature sound left an indelable mark on my soul. If I truly think about it, Joe Romano planted the seed for my Artistry in Jazz radio program. Other than Ben Webster, nobody played a ballad like Joe Romano. I’ll never forget his laugh, which was full of gusto! His playing possessed that same gusto. Lew Tabackin recently emailed me, describing Joe as ‘the last of a breed.’ I couldn’t agree with him more. I thank God for having me cross paths with Joe Romano.

  7. R.I.P. Joe….good friend of my Uncle Jack Stevens over the years. I always thought of him as being a very cool, hip guy, always had a smile for you & very personable.
