Dioguardi, Eleanor J. (Riggs) 'Ellie' Greece: Went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 25, 2010 at age 58 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Dioguardi; sons, Paul (Gena) Dioguardi, Matthew (Kelly) Dioguardi & Timothy (Courtney) Dioguardi; daughter, Elizabeth Dioguardi; step-daughters, Terry (Mark) Saulsgiver, Tracy Bush & Toby (Timothy) Lynch; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Jane) Riggs & Steve (Terri) Riggs; sisters, Barb ( Jim) Bringley & Betsey Strong; mother-in-law, Jane Dioguardi; sister-in-law, Rose Ann (David) Houppert; several nieces, nephews and cousins; many dear friends. Her Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 30th, 10 AM at First Bible Baptist Church, 990 Manitou Road Interment held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, 840 University Avenue, Rochester, New York 14607 (bccr.org) in her memory.

  1. Although I have not seen Eleanor since we were very young, I have never forgotten the lovely smile and friendly person she was.   2. Dear Joe, Paul, Matthew,Tim, Beth, and family. We were so sadden by the death of Ellie and your mom. She was a wonderful person. We had many good times with you all. Wish we could be with you all during this time. You will be in our prayers. She will be missed. What a day that will be when we shall see her again.   3. Ellie lived a joyful life. She dearly loved her family and friends and demonstrated her love and faith on a daily basis. She was always an example to us – as a co-worker and as a caring person. In her illness, she continued to be a model for us of grace and courage. We will miss her so much.

  4. Ellie was a great coworker. My sympathy to her family whom she spoke of often and loved dearly. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. I’ll always remember her courageous attitude.

  6. Ellie was the strongest most courageous women I know. I was so blessed to have known her. My deepest sympathy to her family which she spoke of so often and loved so deeply. We use to joke around at work and I would sing to her the lines from a song ‘Did you ever know that your my hero’ It’s not a joke she is my Hero and will always be a very special angel looking down on us all. I love you Ell and will miss you everyday.

  7. Ellie will surely be missed by all that have known her. She was the most courageous person I’ve known. So sweet, kind, positive and truly loved her family more than anything. My sympathies are with her family.

    a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, and her presence will be missed.

    Damien loved her so much and I know he has some great memories and all of her letters that he will cherish.

  10. I can remember the day you watch me and my sisters Chris and Sue you where like a our other mother but I can remember the fun I had with you and your family. You be miss Mrs Dioguardi and will alway be in my heart and in my prayers. My prayers will be with the family always sorry i cant be there because of work but my prayers are with you all. Billy F.

I am sad I cannot be there due to a previous commitment that I could not change. Ellie was a 2nd mother to my children at a time when they really needed an extra does of love…and she gave it selflessly. Her passing leaves a deep hole in the hearts of my family. Our love ans sympathy goes out to all of you.
