Apostolos “Paul” Kokorotsis

On Thursday, November 17, 2022 Paul at 98 years young peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family.  Predeceased by his wife Zoi; sisters Elizabeth (Paul) Votsis and Olga Nakis; nephew and niece, Peter and Nancy Kokorotsis. Survived by his children, Mary (Athanasios) Tzogas, Gloria Kokorotsis, Peter (Linda) Kokorotsis; Grandchildren Vasilios (Lisa), Zoe (Jimmy), Olga, Alexandra, Toli, Sophia and Brianna; Great-grandchildren, Athanasia, Damianos, Stefanos, Niko and Thano; brother Nikolaos (Pauline) Kokorotsis and brother-in-law Vangelis Nakis, along with loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

Paul immigrated from Flambouro, Greece in 1951, worked very hard and opened his first restaurant in 1960. Paul excelled at cooking and camaraderie, making lots of friends along the way. He was active in his Greek community and served as past president of Omonia Flambouro Society.  For over 40 years he was a staple at the Olympia Restaurant and known as “pappou” by many and loved by all. His zest for life, along with his love for exercising, gardening, animals, music, dancing and playing his bouzouki were some of the secrets to his longevity.

Paul was a loving and caring husband, father and pappou, and took pleasure in seeing all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren embrace the Greek culture.  He leaves behind a great legacy and will be forever missed.

Paul’s visitation will be held Tuesday, November 22nd 3PM – 7PM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 962 East Avenue.  Trisagion will be held at 6:30 PM.  The Funeral Service will be celebrated Wednesday, November 23 11AM at the Church.  Final resting place is White Haven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church or Lollypop Farm in his memory.  The family also thanks the 2300 block at Unity hospital for their love and care.  For more information and to sign his online guestbook, visit www.meesonfamily.com

  3. What wonderful memories I have of a great person! Paul went on many of our trips that my husband planned, and he was such a joy. His enthusiasm for life was the best. He will be missed. Sorry I am away for his services. The family is in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

  4. My condolences to the family. Sorry to hear about Pappou. So very many fond memories of all of us at the restaurant. A friend to all, he will be sorely missed and remains in our hearts. With sympathy, Terri
