Signal Mountain, TN, Thursday, November 28, 2019: Bernice Foery Maxwell, 99, went to the Lord in peace on Thanksgiving Day.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; her brothers, Walter, Frank and Thomas. She is survived by her son Gregory; daughter-in-law, Laurel Worthington; granddaughter, Ruth Johnson and many generations of nieces and nephews.
She was born in Rochester, New York, and spent her first 96 years there. She graduated in 1941 from Nazareth College, and was employed as an administrative professional for many years at a number of places, including Xerox (Haloid).
She enjoyed travel, cooking, dancing, bowling and other activities.
Friends may call Monday (Dec 9th) 4-7 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday (Dec 10th) 9:30 AM at St, Charles Borromeo Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Condolences to the family of a wonderful lady who lived a long and much giving life. She and her many positive traits will indeed be missed.
What a wonderful woman. Over the years we had many conversations and she was as sharp as tack and obviously a great line dancer. We will miss her. So sorry we cannot make it to Rochester.Our best to the family.
Condolences from the Robinson family to Greg and family. We just saw the obituary. Our mother, Donna Robinson, is still alive – at St.Ann’s Home. She is not well enough to come. I will make an effort to stop Monday. Mary Anne, Jim, Lisa and I have such wonderful memories of the bridge games and of Max too.
My mother and Bernice were both Naz girls, and had a wonderful friendship at the Villages in Greece for several years – we went on many outtings together and Bernice was a lovely and interesting lady. RIP
